Refund Policy
When you get your money back, how long it takes, and what to do when a charge looks wrong.
Pro starts with a 3-day free trial, and cancelling inside it costs nothing at all. Past that, if OraLoy does not do what you hoped, we would rather refund you than keep the money. This policy explains how that works and where the edges are.
1. The 14-day guarantee
Ask within 14 days of your first payment on an account and you get a full refund, no reason required and no questions asked. This applies once per account, to the first subscription you buy on it.
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you also have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a distance contract. Starting to use the service does not waive it, and where the two overlap, whichever gives you more applies.
2. Renewals
A renewal is a fresh charge, and a renewal you did not intend to pay for is the most common reason people write in. If a monthly renewal catches you out, tell us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it in full, provided you have barely used the cycle. As a rule of thumb, barely means under a tenth of your included compiles.
A yearly renewal is refunded pro rata for the whole months you have not used, on request within 30 days of the charge. Cancel before the renewal date and none of this comes up at all.
Every renewal is announced by email before it happens, so there is always a chance to cancel first.
3. Cancelling is not the same as a refund
Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running to the end of the period you already paid for. It does not, by itself, refund that period, because you keep the service for all of it.
If you would rather have the time back than use it, ask, and read the section above for when we say yes.
4. Outages and things we broke
If OraLoy is down or badly degraded for a meaningful part of a cycle, that is on us. We refund or credit the affected portion whether or not you are inside any window above, and if it is bad enough that a lot of people are affected, we do it without waiting to be asked.
Charges that are plainly wrong, a double charge, a plan you never picked, a charge after a confirmed cancellation, are refunded in full whenever you spot them.
5. Where we say no
A refund is not on offer in these cases:
- The cycle has been substantially used. Consuming most of your compiles and then asking for the money back is not what the guarantee is for.
- The account was terminated for a serious breach of the Terms of Service.
- The request concerns a charge more than 90 days old, unless the law says otherwise.
- Repeated refunds on the same account, which we read as a signal the product is not for you rather than as a billing arrangement.
- Dissatisfaction with output from a third-party AI model, as distinct from OraLoy failing to compile or deliver a prompt.
6. How to ask, and how long it takes
Email support@oraloy.com from the address on the account, tell us which charge you mean, and say roughly what went wrong if you feel like it. You can also request a refund directly from Polar, our Merchant of Record, using the link on your receipt.
We reply within two business days and approve or explain in that same message. Once approved, the refund is issued by the billing provider to the original payment method. The provider releases it within a few business days, and your bank or card issuer usually takes another five to ten to show it. We cannot refund to a different card or to a method you did not pay with.
Refunds are made in the currency you were charged in. Where a bank applies its own conversion, the amount that lands can differ slightly from the amount charged, and that part is outside our control.
7. Chargebacks
Please write to us before you call your bank. A chargeback costs us a fee, freezes the account while it is investigated, and takes far longer to resolve than an email would. There has never been a case we would not have simply refunded had we been asked first.
